The Milwaukee Brewers' relentless bullpen and clutch late-inning power have pushed the defending champions to the brink.
It's been exactly 60 years since the Los Angeles Dodgers trailed 3-0 in a best-of-seven series, according to The Associated Press.
The Milwaukee Brewers managed to go to Dodger Stadium and defeat the back-to-back World Series Champions, 6-2.
The Dodgers seemed to have all the momentum after Robert Gasser was pulled, only for Milwaukee to hit consecutive left-on-left homers off Blake Snell in the top of the seventh inning, and then add insurance runs in both the eighth and ninth.
Milwaukee has simply outplayed the Dodgers in every area of the game, from starting pitching to hitting home runs to the bullpen; LA hasn't had any answers and now must win four consecutive games to save their season.
Brewers outscored the Dodgers 15-7
Through the first three games of the series, it's really not even close. Sure, Game 1 was a tight 2-1 victory in Milwaukee, but other than that they enjoyed a three-run victory in Game 2 and then their four-run victory less than 24 hours ago.
The craziest thing is that Robert Gasser was the first Brewers starting pitcher to go five innings in the series.
Here in the National League Championship Series, Jacob Misiorowski only went 4.1 innings, and Logan Henderson failed to record an out in the fourth.
With Miz going 4.1 and Henderson going 4.0, all eyes were on Gasser in Game 3, and he threw 5.0 scoreless innings.
Milwaukee's bullpen has been nearly perfect, other than an erratic outing from Abner Uribe in Game 3 that nearly cost them the game.
Despite being down 2-1, Jake Bauers won an 11-pitch battle off Snell and then Garrett Mitchell hit a second straight home run two pitches later.
Remember, in Game 2, the Brewers were down 1-0, 2-1, and 4-3. They may have trailed three times in the game, but they never let it faze them as they overcame a pair of errors and out-hit the Dodgers, 12-3.
LA is now in a position they haven't been in since 1966, a year that saw them get swept.
In MLB history, there has only been one team to come back and win a best-of-seven series after going down 3-0.
Thankfully for the Dodgers, manager Dave Roberts was part of the 2004 Boston Red Sox team that did it.
Otherwise, teams are 41-for-42 in these situations, according to MLB.com's Sonja Chen, and there has only been one team other than those '04 Red Sox to even force a Game 7.
