The Milwaukee Brewers completed a shutout win over the Houston Astros to take the series at Daikin Park in Houston on Sunday.

The Brewers did just enough in a 2-0 victory while their defense, notably their pitching, held the Astros in check. For seven innings, Jacob Misiorowski was a dominant force on the mound.

Misiorowski went seven innings and struck out eight batters while allowing just three hits, and the only low point of his outing was when he hit Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez in the bottom of the third inning to load the bases. Even in a jam, Misiorowski did not budge, and the Brewers got out of it.

After the game, Misiorowski talked with the media about his sixth and final outing of the month of May.

"I mean, all right, I don't think it was my best stuff, but it worked," Misiorowski said. "I was sliding around on that mat a little bit. Saw a couple of slips on the lead leg and it was also on the backside. So, I was kind of trying to play on that and figure it out. I didn't really feel comfortable out there."

Because of his 6-foot-7 frame and his long wingspan, Misiorowski’s extension on his windup and release is longer than the average pitcher, and it is something he has to adapt to.

"I mean, I land an extra two, three inches in front of guys," Misiorowski said. "So, they don't really fix and put clay there. They put clay, you know, where my heel lands. So, you know, it is what it is, and I got to figure it out."

Gary Sanchez was behind the plate for Misiorowski on Sunday, and the latter praised him for helping him through the outing.

"Gary was a huge help today," Misiorowski said. "And, you know, really with the game plan going in was heaters and see if they could hit it. And, you know, they proved that they could hit it, and we figured out a way to get around it. 

"So, Gary was a huge help with that," Misiorowski added. "And we both figured it out."

Through six starts in May, Misiorowski was a dominant force. In 38.1 total innings, he logged a 0.23 ERA while striking out 57 batters and allowing just 14 hits, six walks, and one earned run.

When evaluating his own performance, though, he was modest.

"Yeah, it was pretty good," Misiorowski said. "I mean, I haven't looked at all the numbers and such. Like, so I couldn't tell you exactly what I did.So it felt good. "It felt like a pretty decent month."

When Misiorowski was made aware that he achieved a 0.23 ERA, his modesty remained.

"I mean, that's decent," he said. "No, that's pretty good. But no, I mean, yeah, again, I can't look at it. Can't really focus on that because as soon as you do, it goes haywire."
