The Milwaukee Brewers shattered a 36-year scoring record in a win over the Cincinnati Reds and reached an unprecedented 37 games over .500.
The Milwaukee Brewers offensive barrage has led to their 11th straight series victory at American Family Field.
No, that is not one of the two ways the Brewers made franchise history on Saturday, Sept. 12, against the Cincinnati Reds.
Milwaukee prevailed 20-0 in the series opener, and then roughly 24 hours later they scored 13 more runs as part of a 13-9 victory.
Clinching the playoffs for the fourth time in the last five years is great and all, but it's just a taste of what this team is truly capable of.
Never before have they scored 33 runs in a two-game span, and never before have they ever been 37 games above .500.
Brewers' 93-56 record is unbelievable
For those who have been Brewers fans for the long haul, moments like these seemed unthinkable. This team had reached the lowest of lows, and even with tons of star players on the team for years and years, they weren't ever able to reach this sort of success.
Being 37 games over .500 is as unrecognizable as it gets, but for those who have been watching in the Pat Murphy era, it feels like everything has been building up to this moment.
The Brewers are once again riding a five game winning streak, and they've now scored 31 runs in their last three games.
Things got a bit dicey wise pitching wise against the Reds last night, but no one can take away the fact that they once again scored double-digit runs and continue to be one of the most consistent teams in all of baseball.
Brewers broke a record that has been around since 1990
Milwaukee scored 32 runs in a two-game span back in 1990, but that record has stood the test of time, and rightfully so.
Suddenly, here in 2026, they exploded for a 33-run barrage in a two-game sample size, both of which were at the expense of their division rival.
The series opener saw the Brewers score 20 runs on 23 hits, and they followed that up with a night where they scored 13 runs on 14 hits.
In their last two games, the Brewers have set a new franchise record with 33 runs which have come on 37 hits.
A 36-year-old record has been broken, and it once again proves that this team is special, it's just a matter of how far they're able to ride this wave of momentum through September and beyond.
