The 2026 Major League Baseball regular season is nearly over, and the Milwaukee Brewers are close to capping off a dominant campaign before heading into an important playoff slate.

At this point, with a 93-57 record and a playoff spot clinched heading into their series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday, the Brewers are in a fantastic position, but that does not mean all of their goals are complete. No, not even close, so how do they need to achieve them?

Stephen J. Nesbitt and Chad Jennings of The Athletic recently outlined the strength of the remaining schedules for each club whose chances of making the playoffs stood at minimally 10%.

Given that the Brewers have clinched, they are one of six teams listed by the duo of writers that have a 100% chance of playing in October. Milwaukee's strength of schedule also came in at .515.

Since the Brewers are a lock for the playoffs, what they need to worry about now is finishing with the best record in the National League and reaching 100 wins. To achieve the latter, Milwaukee needs to go 7-5 down the stretch.

The Brewers do not have the most difficult opponents to finish off the year, but they are going to be away from home for most of them.

Milwaukee’s opener against Pittsburgh on Monday began a nine-game road trip. The Brewers have not been as dominant on the road as they have been at home, but they are still formidable with a 41-31 record.

After facing the Pirates, Milwaukee will take on the Baltimore Orioles and the Philadelphia Phillies before returning home. The series against Philadelphia, which will run from Sept. 22-24, is viewed by Nesbitt and Jennings as the key remaining series for this club. 

The Brewers took two out of three games against Philadelphia the last time the two met in June, but the Phillies are much improved and will be sure to pose quite a challenge. If Milwaukee can get past them, it will bode well for capturing 100 wins, depending on how they do in the previous two series.

The Brewers will finish up the season at home, where they will face the St. Louis Cardinals.

For Milwaukee, this is a good situation because it has dominated St. Louis this season to the tune of an 8-2 series lead. The Cardinals are barely hanging on in the NL Wild Card race, though, and given how their games leading up to visiting the Brewers play out, they could be fighting for their lives to keep their season alive.

Overall, there is not a ton of pressure on Milwaukee as the season winds down. The biggest goals cannot be achieved until October, but it would be cool to see this group finish with the best record in baseball for the second year in a row and become the first 100-win team since the 101-win Orioles in 2023.
