The Milwaukee Brewers are gearing up for Spring Training and have several players ready to take center field.

The Milwaukee Brewers are less than a week away from having pitchers and catchers report and just over two weeks away from hosting the Cleveland Guardians for their first Spring Training game of 2026.

I have taken the time to identify depth at each position for the Brewers. Now, it is time to look at who will man center field.

Jackson Chourio: In his second MLB season, Chourio spent most of his time in center field. His 89 games and 87 starts at the position in 2025 exceed everyone else listed alongside him on the depth chart, and he played the position effectively.

Through 754.2 total innings last season, Chourio logged a .990 fielding percentage and only two errors in center field. He demonstrates above average arm strength and good range which will make him a fit once again in 2026.

Blake Perkins: A fractured right tibia suffered nearly a year ago and other obstacles restricted Perkins to just 54 games last season, 52 of which he played in center field (39 starts).

But, in 2024, Perkins was a mainstay in center, logging 119 games and 104 starts at the position. In the 2024 season, Perkins logged a .997 fielding percentage and a 1.2 DWAR.

Perkins possesses great quickness and arm strength, so if his health remains intact, there is a strong chance he will return to form in 2026.

Garret Mitchell: Much like Perkins, injuries hampered Mitchell’s 2025 campaign. In the case of the latter, it was a nagging left oblique strain that eventually landed him on the 60-day injured list after shoulder surgery in July which ended his season.

Mitchell played center field well last season in his limited time on the field. Through 25 games (21 starts), he committed no errors across 179.2 full innings played while posting 68 putouts.

Mitchell has played 113 games (93 starts) at the position during his four-year MLB career and has proven to be consistent. In total, he has a .996 fielding percentage across 822.1 full innings. If Mitchell can maintain his health, then he can be a solid depth piece for Milwaukee in 2026.

Jett Williams: The case for Williams in center field after coming over as a coveted piece in the Freddy Peralta trade is interesting. The 22-year-old has yet to make his MLB debut but has spent time at center field in the minors.

Williams’ numbers in center are solid, and it is his second-most played position. It will be interesting to see how and if the Brewers utilize him there.
