Despite a few bumps in the road and the natural adversity that comes with the territory of a 162-game season, the Milwaukee Brewers are rolling.

The Brewers, after starting the season hot en route to capturing first place in the National League Central Division, quickly found themselves in last place among the highly competitive group of teams, and they were fighting to stay above .500 in late April and early May as injuries took their toll.

Then, while still in the early days of May, health returned, and Milwaukee began to find its rhythm, which led to a 19-7 record and a surge back to the top of the division, It continues to comfortably hold with a 4.5 game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals heading into Wednesday's slate of games.

The Brewers have won in a variety of ways throughout the year, but one consistent strength has been pitching. From the starting rotation to the bullpen, Milwaukee’s arms have continued to churn out quality performances, despite being the group on the team with the most injuries.

The main focus of the Brewers' success on the mound has been the continuous rapid ascension of Jacob Misiorowski, who has, by many metrics, become baseball’s best pitcher. However, there is another starter on staff who may not be as flashy, but is incredibly consistent: Kyle Harrison.

Don’t get it twisted. While Harrison does not have the most strikeouts in Major League Baseball like Misiorowski, he has had big games. In three of his 13 starts this season, Harrison has produced two 12-strikeout games and one 11-strikeout game. Additionally, he holds an 8-1 record, which is tied for fourth among MLB starters.

In other words, the Brewers are not in this position without Harrison. Along with Misiorowski, Harrison creates a one-two punch that carries the bulk of the responsibilities in Milwaukee’s starting rotation, especially with Brandon Woodruff continuing to miss time. 

Recently, Brewers pitching coach Chris Hook joined MLB Now to praise Harrison.

"I don't think anybody was missing anything," Hook said. "I think he's a tremendously talented guy that just needed to simplify what he was doing to get a better understanding of how stuff worked and, you know, we changed a few things, you know, we just, we try to keep as simple as we can, and I think simplicity leads to conviction. 

"I think with him, you're seeing a guy that's another competitive dude," Hook added. "But extremely convicted of what he's doing and, you know, when you start compounding some positive things on top of that, things really start rolling. I think that's what you're seeing with Kyle."
