Luis Rengifo Excited to Join Milwaukee Brewers cover image

Infielder Luis Rengifo brings his versatile game and competitive spirit to the Milwaukee Brewers. He's ready to contribute to a winning team.

After officially signing with the Milwaukee Brewers, Luis Rengifo made one thing clear: He’s eager to get started.

“It’s pretty fun. I’m excited,” Rengifo said when asked about joining Milwaukee. “I know a couple guys here, and it’s a good group. I’m excited to be around these guys.”

From the outside, Rengifo said the Brewers stood out as a consistent winner. “They go to the playoffs all the time,” he said. “It’s a fun group to watch, and it looks like a family.”

That winning culture played a role in his decision. For Rengifo, the opportunity to join a club with postseason aspirations brings added motivation. “It’s really fun to be wanted and to be on a team like this,” he said. “I love how the guys think here.”

As for his role, Rengifo expects to showcase the versatility that has defined much of his career. While third base has been mentioned as a possibility, he indicated he’s prepared to move around the infield if needed.

“I’m a player,” Rengifo said. “I’m going to be available every single time when I’m in the lineup and do my best for the team.”

Rather than focusing on locking down one position, he emphasized his adaptability. The priority, he explained, is contributing wherever the Brewers need him most.

Offensively, Rengifo described himself as a competitor at the plate. “For me, it’s more about fighting every at-bat and driving in runs,” he said. “That’s the most important thing.”

Milwaukee’s roster features a youthful core, but Rengifo views himself simply as part of the mix rather than labeling himself a veteran presence.

“I feel I’m part of this team,” he said. “I’m part of this family, and I will enjoy it.”

Reflecting on his performance last season, Rengifo acknowledged there were fluctuations. “It was ups and downs,” he said. “But it was another decent year. I’m going to keep my head up and do my best.”

Now with a new organization and a fresh opportunity, Rengifo is focused on consistency, team success, and helping Milwaukee continue its run as a postseason contender.
