Sal Frelick Reports Healthy as Milwaukee Brewers Open Spring Training cover image

Sal Frelick is ready to impact the Milwaukee Brewers' lineup after a winter of healing.

Outfielder Sal Frelick arrived at spring camp with the Milwaukee Brewers feeling refreshed after an offseason centered on recovery and overall conditioning.

Speaking from the club’s spring training complex in Phoenix, Frelick said his primary goal over the winter was to ensure his body was fully prepared for the grind of a full season.

Frelick dealt with minor physical wear late last year, particularly with his knee, but emphasized that rest and rehabilitation — not surgery — allowed him to return to full strength.

“I feel great,” Frelick said. “It was a good offseason to recuperate and get the body back where it needed to be. There were no surgeries — just rehab and taking care of all the little bumps and bruises.”

The 25-year-old noted that the physical toll of a long season often becomes more noticeable after the postseason ends. While adrenaline helps players push through during competition, Frelick explained that recovery truly begins once the schedule slows down.

Looking back at his 2025 season, Frelick pointed to durability as one of his biggest personal achievements. Staying on the field consistently remains a major priority as he continues developing offensively.

“You want to play 150 games every year,” Frelick said. “Just being out there and staying healthy is the biggest thing. After that, you focus on repeating the progress you made.”

Frelick also credited experience for helping him grow at the plate. Rather than making dramatic mechanical changes, he believes repetition and familiarity with major-league pitching helped improve his overall comfort level in the batter’s box.

As camp opens, Frelick is also adjusting to several roster changes while getting acquainted with new teammates. He noted that the organization consistently brings in players who fit the club’s culture, adding that early interactions during camp have already created strong chemistry.

From an outfield perspective, Frelick expressed excitement about entering the season with a healthier group. He believes improved depth and stability could help strengthen the team defensively and offensively.

Frelick also confirmed he will not participate in this year’s World Baseball Classic after previously considering the opportunity. Following conversations with team staff, he opted to prioritize recovery and long-term durability.

“I wanted to make sure my body was fully taken care of,” Frelick said. “It’s an amazing experience, but this offseason was about preparing for the season ahead.”

With a clean bill of health and another year of experience, Frelick enters 2026 focused on consistency and continuing his upward trajectory in Milwaukee’s lineup.
