One of the few but prized signings of the offseason for the St. Louis Cardinals seems to be returning to form.

Right-handed starting pitcher Dustin May, who the Cardinals signed to a one-year, $12.5 million contract this offseason, threw in a sim game Friday. According to the radar gun, May's fastball sat in the 97-98 mile-per-hour range and touches 99 mph, based on comments from team manager Oli Marmol.

Based on a report on "X" from Belleville News-Democrat reporter Jeff Jones, that velocity is also around what May has displayed in bullpens.
