One of the longest-running stories of the offseason is finally resolves.

The St. Louis Cardinals traded 2025 All-Star Brendan Donovan to the Seattle Mariners in a three-team trade that included the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Cardinals received right-handed starting pitching prospect Jurrangelo Cijntje, outfield prospect Tai Peete and a Competitive Balance Round B pick from the Mariners and a Competitive Round B pick and outfield prospect Colton Ledbetter from the Rays.

With the addition of Cijntje, St. Louis now has six top 100 prospects, per MLB Pipeline: infielder JJ Wetherholt (No. 5), left-handed pitcher Liam Doyle (No. 34), catcher Rainiel Rodriguez (No. 37), outfielder Joshua Baez (No. 87), Cijntje (No. 91) and catcher Leonardo Bernal (No. 98).
