The St. Louis Cardinals wrapped up a months-long saga days before pitchers and catchers reported to spring training. The team traded 2025 All-Star Brendan Donovan to the Seattle Mariners in a three-team trade with the Tampa Bay Rays that netted St. Louis two Competitive Balance Round B picks and three prospects.

Those prospects are top 100 switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje and outfielders Tai Peete and Colton Ledbetter.
