Jordan Walker leads Washington's James Wood by 5,464 votes for the No. 6 spot in balloting for the National League All-Star team. The top six leading vote getters among outfielders advance to Phase II of the voting.
Cardinals' standout Jordan Walker, who reversed his previous three years of struggles with career-best numbers across the board in 2026, sits at No. 6 among National League outfielders in voting for the July 14 MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Field in Philadelphia.
Phase 1 of All-Star voting runs until June 25 at 11 a.m. CT. Only the top six outfielders will advance into Phase II of voting and Walker – who has nabbed 437,071 votes thus far – has just a 5,464-vote lead on Nationals outfielder James Wood for the last spot as a finalist.
As Phase 1 continues, fans can vote as many as five times per every 24-hour period exclusively at MLB.com, on all 30 MLB club sites and on the MLB app.
Dodgers’ center fielder Andy Pages, Braves right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. and Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh lead the NL outfielders in voting. Braves centerfielder Michael Harris II, Dodgers slugger Teoscar Hernandez and Walker sit in the next spots among NL outfielders. Acuna Jr. and Hernandez currently sit on the Injured List with hamstring injuries.
Walker, 24, has been a driving force on a Cardinals club that has been one of MLB’s most surprising teams in 2026. He leads the Cardinals in hits (79), homers (18), RBI (56), stolen bases (10), batting average (.294), slugging (.554) and OPS (.902), while ranking second on the club in doubles (16) and fourth in on-base percentage.
The Cardinals (38-31), who traded Nolan Arenado, Sonny Gray, Willson Contreras and Brendan Donovan over the winter, sit atop the NL Wild Cards standings heading into tonight’s game against the Padres (37-33) at Busch Stadium. The Cards trail the NL Central-leading Brewers (43-26) by five games, but they lead the rival Chicago Cubs (37-35) by 2 ½ games. The Cards recently took two of three games from the Cubs in a three-game series played at Busch Stadium.
Burleson, Herrera only Cards in Top 5 in voting
Alec Burleson, the club’s other top performer at the plate this season, ranks a distant fifth among first basemen. Burleson, a Silver Slugger award winner in 2025, has gotten 155,211 votes – well back of leader Freddie Freeman at 870,606 votes.
Burleson, who recently homered five times on the Cardinals six-game road trip to New York and Minnesota, has slashed .287/.352/.496/.848 this season in 68 games. He has added a team-best 17 doubles to go with 13 homers and 51 RBI.
Cardinals’ standout rookie JJ Wetherholt is No. 9 among NL second basemen, while Masyn Winn is No. 8 among shortstops. Ivan Herrera ranks No. 5 in voting for the Designated Hitter position, but he is well back of Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Schwarber.
Arenado, who was traded to the D-backs in January, is at No. 3 in the voting behind Max Muncy and Alex Bohm in All-Star voting.
Shohei Ohtani leads all players with 1,165,133 votes. If that holds, it would be the first time the two-way superstar was MLB’s leading All-Star vote-getter. Ohtani leads Houston slugger Yordan Alvarez by more than 149,000 votes for the MLB lead and has an edge of more than 192,000 votes over Atlanta catcher Drake Baldwin, the NL’s second-leading vote-getter.
