Longtime Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette could be on the move this offseason as he’s on the free agent market. Amid the Blue Jays’ run to the World Series last season, rumors swirled about a potential move for Bichette. That might be more realistic now as reportedly five teams are interested in Bichette. One of those is obviously Toronto, with the Boston Red Sox also linked with high interest.
However, MLB insiders have reported that three more teams are inquiring about Bichette, which are the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Not just that, but there are talks about Bichette potentially moving to third base for the Dodgers. They would certainly have to make room in their payroll to bring over the star.
Here is the full story from Dodgers Roundtable writer Joe Rutland on that as a potential fit.
With Los Angeles having Mookie Betts in place at shortstop, they could have a long-term need at the hot corner that Bichette could fill. Bichette slashed .311/.357/.483 with 18 home runs, 94 RBI, and a .840 OPS. He would look to replace Max Muncy eventually in this scenario, as the 36-year-old is only signed through 2026 and has missed significant time with injuries, which could cause the Dodgers to turn the keys over to someone like 27-year-old Bichette for the future at third base.
