The Chicago Cubs won their first World Series title since 1908 in 2016, but there was one team in the franchise's history that should've broken the streak based on the pitching alone.

The 2008 Cubs had a nasty starting rotation of Ryan Dempster, Ted Lilly, Carlos Zambrano, Jason Marquis and Rich Harden. Harden was the ace of the rotation, with an ERA of 1.77.

Dempster had an ERA below three, while Lilly's was 4.09, with Zambrano at 3.91 and Marquis at 4.53.

That team sadly got swept in the NLDS by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but it's still fun to look back at some underrated pitching for Chicago.
