Seiya Suzuki is crushing it at the World Baseball Classic

Seiya Suzuki put together an all-time performance in Japan's most recent World Baseball Classic outing against South Korea.  Japan won 8-6, with Suzuki accounting for three runs in the two home runs that he hit. He went 2-3 at the plate and had four RBIs as a whole. Suzuki is on an absolute tear that Chicago Cubs fans love to see. Mar 7, 2026

Concern level for Dylan Carlson after hit by pitch on right elbow in Spring Training?

Dylan Carlson had a hot start to Monday's game against the Cincinnati Reds for the Chicago Cubs.  He doubled in his first at-bat of the game, but then something bad happened later on in the game. Carlson was at the plate in the fourth inning when he took a pitch to his right elbow.  Carlson took his base but was seen wincing in pain afterwards. Should this be a cause for concern? Mar 2, 2026

People don't realize how good Jake Arrieta was in his prime

The Chicago Cubs had plenty of talent on their roster during their World Series run in 2016.  They had Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, and Javier Baez, but also had an ace of a starting pitcher in Jake Arrieta. Arrieta was in Chicago from 2013-17, and returned for one more season in 2021.  Here's a video of him securing his first no-hitter. Absolutely filthy stuff! Feb 26, 2026

Cubs have all-time base-running blunder vs. Giants

The Chicago Cubs channeled their inner Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday in their Spring Training matchup with the San Francisco Giants.  Seiya Suzuki had a knock that dropped into right field, but the Cubs forgot how baserunning works. Suzuki went for a double, and Chicago had two runners at third base.  Suzuki was tagged out at second base, and then a Giants player ran over and tagged both of the runners at third base for a triple play. At least it's Spring Training, but still a real head-scratcher from the Cubs. Feb 22, 2026

Seiya Suzuki crushes homer in first Spring Training AB

Seiya Suzuki looks to be ready for the 2026 season after what happened in his first at-bat of spring training.  The Chicago White Sox got things going in the first inning and had a 1-0 lead. It didn't last very long. Suzuki came to the plate and demolished a pitch to left center to tie the game at one a piece.  The Cubs have to be fired up about Suzuki after that one. Feb 20, 2026

Thoughts on Seiya Suzuki Playing CF?

Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell shared that outfielder Seiya Suzuki will be playing center field in the Spring Training season opener on Friday.  Suzuki spent a lot of time last season as the team's designated hitter, finishing with a batting average of .245 and 32 home runs. Suzuki did play right field for Chicago in the postseason.  Is this a move you would like to see the Cubs make in the regular season as well? Feb 19, 2026

Alex Bregman Shares Awesome Moment with Son

The Chicago Cubs signed a solid player in third baseman Alex Bregman.  He is also a great father as well. Someone recorded Bregman at the Cubs' facility having a game of catch with his son. Maybe there will be another Bregman in the MLB in the future.  A great video to brighten your day. Feb 15, 2026

Nico Hoerner is the epitome of consistency

The Chicago Cubs are very lucky to have a player like infielder Nico Hoerner in their clubhouse.  He consistently had a solid stat line throughout the course of the entire 2025 season. In March and April, he hit .295 with a WAR of 0.7. Then in May, he hit .290 with a 0.8 WAR. The lowest his batting average got was .283 in August with a 0.6 WAR.  However, he really turned things on in September and October, with a .333 average and 1.2 WAR. Hoerner and the Cubs are a great match. Feb 12, 2026

Cubs in the 2026 WBC

The 2026 World Baseball Classic is still about a month away, but there will be plenty of Chicago Cubs players representing their countries.  Team USA has 3B Alex Bregman, OF Pete Crow-Armstrong and SP Matthew Boyd. Team Canada will feature SP Jameson Taillon. Catcher Miguel Amaya is representing Team Panama, with Seiya Suzuki suiting up for Japan.  Daniel Palencia is playing for Venezuela, and Javier Assad is playing for Mexico. Feb 7, 2026

Former Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is heading back to the world of baseball.  He'll be joining NBC as an MLB Studio Analyst. It'll be great to see Rizzo around the game of baseball again.  He last played for the New York Yankees in 2024. Jan 29, 2026

Cubs and Bears both advance in playoffs for first time ever

The Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears made history this season.  It was the first time that both franchises had ever advanced in the postseason in the same season. The Cubs beat the San Diego Padres in the Wild Card 2-1, before losing to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS 3-2.  The Bears recently beat the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card and advanced to the Divisional Round. The 14-year anniversary of the Anthony Rizzo trade

14 years ago, the Chicago Cubs traded for first baseman Anthony Rizzo with the San Diego Padres.  The rest was history, as Rizzo had three All-Star Game appearances, three Gold Gloves and two Silver Slugger Awards. Rizzo caught the final out in Game 7 of that magical 2016 World Series.  One of the best trades the Cubs have made in franchise history. Jan 6, 2026

Should Cubs go for Bichette or Bregman?

The Chicago Cubs missed out on signing Japanese pitcher Tatsuya Imai after he landed with the Houston Astros.  Chicago could still make a big free-agent signing this offseason. The question is, do the Cubs go after Alex Bregman or Bo Bichette? The 2004 Cubs starting rotation was absolutely stacked

The 2004 Chicago Cubs didn't make the postseason despite having an excellent rotation of starting pitchers.  Chicago had Kerry Wood, Greg Maddux, Matt Clement, Mark Prior and Carlos Zambrano. Zambrano led the way with a 2.75 ERA, followed by Clement (3.68), Wood (3.72), Prior (4.02) and Maddux (4.02).  It's a shame this team didn't make it to October with the talent they had on the mound. Dec 20, 2025

WWE superstar John Cena retired from wrestling recently.  After his retirement, a picture of him sporting a Chicago Cubs jersey from one of his wrestling matches back in the day surfaced on social media. At least Cena knew who the better baseball team in Chicago was. Dec 15, 2025

Should Michael Busch be Team USA's First Baseman in WBC?

Chicago Cubs first baseman Michael Busch had a breakout year with the franchise in 2025.  He set career highs in batting average (.261), home runs (34), RBIs (90) and hits (137). Team USA is still putting together its roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. With the year Busch had, he should definitely be considered for the team.  What do you think? Dec 9, 2025

Should Cubs stick with Matt Shaw after strong 2nd half?

Chicago Cubs third baseman Matt Shaw really got things going after the All-Star break.  Following a slow start to the year, he had a .258 batting average, 11 home runs and 29 RBIs. His final stat line for 2025 was a .226 average, 13 home runs and 44 RBIs.  Did he do enough for Chicago to keep him around? Dec 5, 2025

Look at the first ivy planted at Wrigley Field

The home of the Chicago Cubs is known for its iconic ivy that is on the brick wall at center field.  Wrigley Field has been around for quite some time, and it's hard to picture it without its ivy. Should Cubs go after former Mets closer Edwin Diaz?

The Chicago Cubs have some options this offseason after winning their first postseason series since 2017.  One of the free agents that Cubs may want to look at pursuing is former New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz. Diaz was an All-Star in 2025 and finished with a 1.63 ERA with 28 saves.  It never hurts to bolster the bullpen. Would the Cubs benefit from going after Diaz? Nov 30, 2025

Return on investment for Cubs' shortstop Dansby Swanson

Dansby Swanson has been with the Chicago Cubs since 2023, signing a seven-year, $177 million contract via Spotrac.  He spent majority of his MLB career with the Atlanta Braves from 2016-2022.  Since joining the Cubs, he has made one All-Star Game and was also a Gold Glove Winner in 2023. He has a .243 batting average, with 62 home runs and 223 RBIs.  How do you feel about Swanson's play since joining the Cubs? Nov 27, 2025
