The 2016 season will always be a special one for fans of the Chicago Cubs, as it was the end of long World Series drought dating back to 1908. 

On Thursday, it was the nine-year anniversary of the Cubs' 3-2 win over the Cleveland Indians, now known as the Guardians. 

With the win, the Cubs tied the series at 2-2, shifting it back to Cleveland. Chicago won the last two games of the series to take home the title. 

The Cubs qualified for the postseason in their first year under Manager Craig Counsell but were eliminated in the NLDS by the Milwaukee Brewers.
