Seiya Suzuki needs an extension

With a double and a home run on Tuesday night, now is a fitting time to bring up Seiya Suzuki and the possibility that the Chicago Cubs need to extend him.
Suzuki is about to turn 32, but he's been nothing but consistent throughout his Cubs tenure. He's now up to 107 home runs with a .822 OPS, and his OPS+ has been at 126 or better in each of the last four seasons.
At this point, the age shouldn't scare the Cubs away from finding a way to keep him around. Even if that means paying a relatively high AAV on a shorter three- or four-year deal, the Cubs need to make sure Suzuki is back on this team in 2027. His consistency is too valuable to simply let him walk when the current contract is up.
