From Pete Crow-Armstrong’s defensive dominance to Dansby Swanson’s uphill battle, discover which North Side stars will secure hardware after Chicago’s historic five-finalist showing in the National League.

The Gold Glove finalists for each position were announced earlier this week.

The Chicago Cubs lead the National League with five Gold Glove finalists. Pete Crow-Armstrong (center field), Ian Happ (left field), Seiya Suzuki (right field), Dansby Swanson (shortstop), and Alex Bregman (third base) are all up to win a Gold Glove.

But which Cubs players could actually win a Gold Glove this season? Here’s the likelihood each Gold Glove finalist wins.

Pete Crow-Armstrong

There’s no debate: Crow-Armstrong will win his second straight Gold Glove. The Cubs center fielder was the best defender in all of baseball this past year and will secure another Gold Glove following an incredible defensive campaign.

Crow-Armstrong led all defenders in Fielding Run Value (26), Outs Above Average (26), Runs Prevented (23), and five- and four-star catches combined (22). He will win his second Gold Glove and should win the Platinum Glove as well.

Chance: 100%

Alex Bregman

Bregman should be on track to win his second Gold Glove over the past three seasons. Bregman put together another strong defensive season. He ranked first in defensive runs saved (15), tied for first in Fielding Run Value (7), and second in Outs Above Average (9) and Runs Prevented (7) among all third basemen.

The only third baseman that ranked better than Bregman in some of those categories was Manny Machado. But Machado wasn't named a finalist in the National League, so Bregman should win it easily.

Chance: 90%

Seiya Suzuki

Suzuki’s defense was definitely a work in progress earlier in his Major League career. He finished with a negative Fielding Run Value in three straight seasons from 2023 to 2025. However, Suzuki put together his best defensive season in 2026 and has a realistic shot at winning his first Gold Glove.

It’s really a neck-and-neck battle between Suzuki and Corbin Carroll to win this Gold Glove. Carroll had the better Outs Above Average (10) and Runs Prevented (9), but Suzuki had more defensive runs saved (14) and a better Fielding Run Value (8).

Chance: 50%

Ian Happ

Happ is looking to win his fifth straight Gold Glove. However, he has a harder chance of winning it this season than in previous years. Although Happ had another top defensive season, Jackson Chourio had a slightly better defensive season by the metrics.

Chourio led all National League outfielders in Fielding Run Value (8), Outs Above Average (7), Runs Prevented (6), and defensive runs saved (13). Happ’s numbers just weren’t quite the same in those categories.

Chance: 35%

Dansby Swanson

It’s definitely a long shot for Dansby Swanson to win a Gold Glove this season. He no doubt had an above-average defensive season at shortstop. He ranked tied for fifth in Fielding Run Value (12), Outs Above Average (16), and Runs Prevented (12).

The problem is that Masyn Winn had a career defensive year. He led all National League shortstops in Fielding Run Value (17), Outs Above Average (19), Runs Prevented (14), and defensive runs saved (10).

Chance: 10%
