The Arizona Diamondbacks are coming off of a series sweep by the Los Angeles Dodgers, so getting home to Chase Field will feel pretty good.

On Monday, the Diamondbacks will welcome the Detroit Tigers to their home park. First pitch in Downtown Phoenix will be at 9:10 p.m. ET (7:10 p.m. MT).

Michael Soroka gets the starting nod for the D-backs against future Baseball Hall of Famer Justin Verlander for the Tigers. Verlander signed a one-year contract to come on back to where it all started for him in his MLB career.

It's pretty safe to say that the Dodgers' series didn't sit well with many of the D-backs'  players.

After Saturday night's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers on birthday boy Will Smith's go-ahead, two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, catcher James McCann discussed what happened during that series.

"There's things that we did well, there's things that we could have done better," McCann said, according to D-backs beat reporter Steve Gilbert of MLB.com.

"But can't dwell on three games," McCann said. "Three games out of 162, and we've got to find a way to bounce back. We have an off-day tomorrow and look forward to getting back home and playing in front of our fans."

D-backs manager Torey Lovullo wasn't happy with how things broke down against Los Angeles. Yet he also realizes that this is a long, long season, and three games don't necessarily dictate how a season will go.

"We won a lot of innings of baseball over the course of this three-game series," Lovullo said. "Yet we're 0-3, so that's frustrating. It's very frustrating. This was a tough series, no doubt about it. I did not think we would be coming home 0-3, but we are."

So, D-backs fans in the Valley of the Sun can listen to the team's home opener on 98.7 Arizona's Sports Station. It also will be on Dbacks TV, too.
