Marte Goes on 10-day Injured List

The Ketel Marte saga continues for the Arizona Diamondbacks. After a high-level meeting between Marte and the Diamondbacks' front office, Marte, who has been MIA for a couple of days, was placed on the 10-day Injured List on Thursday. John Gambadoro, longtime radio host at Arizona Sports, posted this on X on Thursday night. "Ketel Marte, his agent, Mike Hazen and Torrey Lovullo met today in what was described as a productive meeting," Gambadoro wrote. :He will go on the 10-day IL today. His MRI showed some inflammation on the upper hamstring and medial joint of the knee. He received an injection this afternoon. The Diamondbacks are hopeful his stay on the IL will be on the short end." So, the Marte story will continue until this season ends.Aug 21, 2026

Are Trades Coming Soon For D-backs?

There's no doubt that the Arizona Diamondbacks want to get themselves solidly into a postseason position. Arizona is 57-52 this season, 11 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West Division. They have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games and won two straight games. The D-backs are tied with the Dodgers in the NL Wild Card race as both teams are not behind in the games-back category. Diamondbacks Seek Series Win Over Athletics

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Athletics have split the first two games of their three-game series at Chase Field in Phoenix. Now, with a series victory on the line, the D-backs and Athletics go into a Wednesday afternoon contest. Merrill Kelly will look to rally from a shaky outing when he takes the mound for Arizona. Kelly is 7-8 with a 5.20 ERA. He has totaled 62 strikeouts to go along with 40 walks. Kelly currently has a 1.49 ERA. Gage Jump takes the mound for the Athletics. Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado Joins 2,000-Hit Club

Nolan Arenado has been a fantastic player during his MLB career. He added another addition to his record-filled career. On Monday night at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arenado hit his career hit No. 2,000 against the Athletics. It was a double down the left-field line. As Arenado reached second base and looked back at the Diamondbacks' dugout, everyone was waving their hands and hats in his direction. Here's some additional data from MLB.com. Arenado is the sixth player in MLB history with 2,000-plus hits, 350-plus home runs, and 10-plus Gold Gloves. He joins Ken Griffey Jr., Willie Mays, Mike Schmidt, Johnny Bench, and Al Kaline. Pretty soon, the Arizona Diamondbacks will enter the second half of the 2026 MLB season. The ballclub has played well in stretches this season. The Diamondbacks are going to have to play some solid baseball all the way if they want to reach the National League playoffs. Look for potential trade activity from Arizona in the coming days. The MLB Trade Deadline is on August 3.  Corbin Carroll and Eduardo Rodriguez are coming off appearances at the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night, too. Diamondbacks' Carroll, Rodriguez Appear in All-Star Game

On Tuesday night at the MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Arizona Diamondbacks left fielder Corbin Carroll and pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez saw action on the field for the National League squad. Carroll subbed in for New York Mets left fielder Juan Soto and ended up going 0-for-1 at the plate. St. Louis Cardinals outfielder and Home Run Derby winner Jordan Walker came in and subbed for Carroll in the game. Rodriguez worked one inning in the game and put together a nifty 1-2-3 second inning. National League starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez of the Philadelphia Phillies gave up three runs in the first inning. It's always nice to see Diamondbacks players represented and getting time to play in the All-Star Game. But the NL is down 4-0 in the top of the ninth, so they have some work to do if they are going to rally.Jul 15, 2026

In their last 10 games, the Arizona Diamondbacks have gone 4-6. At the same time, the San Diego Padres have gone 2-8. This has allowed the D-backs to tie the Padres for second place in the National League West Division standings. Yes, both teams are 14 games behind the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. Going into Wednesday's games, the D-backs and Padres are also both 4.5 games out of an NL Wild Card spot. UPDATE: Diamondbacks' Game with Cardinals Postponed

UPDATE: Thursday night's game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and St. Louis Cardinals has been postponed. Inclement weather moved into the St. Louis area and, after delaying the start, it was ruled that the rain situation would not end on Thursday night. A report from the Associated Press provided information on the game and when it would be made up in the future.  "The game will be made up on July 23, which was previously an open day for both clubs," according to the AP report. Zac Gallen, who was scheduled to start on Thursday, will now get the start on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. The Diamondbacks announced that Thursday’s starter Zac Gallen will start Friday at Tampa Bay. ---------- With inclement weather around the St. Louis metropolitan area on Thursday, the Arizona Diamondbacks' game against the St. Louis Cardinals has been delayed. The Cardinals' account on X posted about the situation as it is at around 6:13 p.m. CT in St. Louis. The Arizona Diamondbacks suffered some tough news on Saturday as Michael Soroka went on the 15-day Injured List and Jordan Lawlar is going on the 10-day Injured List. According to reports from MLB Trade Rumors, Soroka is dealing with a strained left glute. Lawlar is suffering from a strained right hamstring.
