Marte Scratched from Diamondbacks Lineup vs. Cardinals

The Arizona Diamondbacks knew today was going to be a weird one as they headed to St. Louis for a makeup game against the Cardinals.

Coming off a series win over the Athletics, the D-Backs are set to play the Cardinals in a one-off game that begins 10 straight games on the road.

Just hours before first pitch, it was announced that second baseman Ketel Marte was scratched from the lineup.

Back stiffness was given as the reason, but further details will hopefully be provided either during or directly after the game.
