
The Arizona Diamondbacks season was by far a disappointment. Being swept by the San Diego Padres was just the icing on the cake to end the season.
Finishing just below .500 and officially ending the playoff race with the loses to the Padres, Arizona is hoping to improve pitching and defense in the offseason.
With the season ending on a five-game losing streak, being outscored 17-5 in just the last three of those games. Pitching and defense are the two things that let the team down at the end of the day.
The Diamondbacks must add proven talent to both sides, starting rotation and the bullpen. Now they are more than likely to do this through trades.
The Arizona Diamondbacks did somehow manage to stay relevant even with key injuries. A.J. Puk, Justin Martinez, Jalen Beeks, and Kevin Ginkel are just some of the key pitchers that the D-Backs lost early in the season.
The Diamondbacks minor league system ended up ranking last in pitching as well.
Alot of expectations for Arizona to develop and bring up a pitcher from the minors. That idea is most likely not going to happen. A trade would be more likely to happen. Arizona Diamondbacks General Manager Mike Hazen stated he would like to avoid high-cost veteran free agents.
Joe Ryan of the Minnesota twins is a main target for the Diamondbacks this offseason. Ryan ended his season with a 13-10 record, throwing 194 strikeouts with a 3.42 ERA.
Arizona had a tremendous offense that had an immense amount of firepower, a 100-RBI hitter in Geraldo Perdomo.
Diamondbacks looking at the 2026 season with a healthy bullpen and the same offense coming back, it is a bright future for this Arizona Diamondbacks ballclub.
Arizona has come out and said they are open to dealing top prospects to anyone, for top talent pitching. There are multiple free agents from this 2025 roster that are on the market right now.
Will the D-Backs be aggressive and make trades or be more conservative is the question.
