Arizona Diamondbacks young outfielder Corbin Carroll was officially named to Team USA roster. Carroll was introduced to the national-team fold during the MLB Awards Ceremony.
Team USA skipper, Mark DeRosa expressed to everyone how the team does have and want veteran leadership on the team. He is not taking away from those veterans when he stressed the importance of letting this young man step up and hit some homers is important as well.
Carroll is only 25 and coming off of a great season with the Diamondbacks. Corbin Carroll proved himself to be a power hit and generational base runner.
The versatility Corbin Carroll brings to the team, playing all three outfield positions and playing them all very well, will impact this team immediately.
What a lot of people do not know is, Carroll had eligibility to play and represent Taiwan due to his heritage. Corbin Carroll decided to not go that route and stick with his choice to play with Team USA.
In 2023 Team USA fell short in the World Baseball Classic. Japan beat the Americans in 2023 to bring the trophy home.
The 2026 World Classic begins in March, which is Pool B for Team USA. These games will take place in Houston, and they are facing some tough competition.
Corbin Carroll is no stranger to the international stage. Carroll played for the U.S youth team, but we can all agree this will be a much bigger spotlight for this amazing young man.
DeRosa has an interesting challenge ahead of him with his choice to mix the normal seasoned veterans with the MLB's new up and coming players. The choice to do so definitely shows the Team USA organization is leaning to more youth on the team.
Excited for Corbin Carroll and what is means to fans of the Arizona Diamondbacks to have one of their own out on the field while they root for Team USA.
