The Arizona Diamondbacks completed a 4-1 comeback win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday to kick off June and their four-game slate against the back-to-back World Series Champions.

It took a while for Arizona’s offense to get going on Monday, but once it did, three batters hit three home runs en route to the win. After the game, Diamondbacks right fielder Corbin Carroll was displaying a confident demeanor.

In an appearance on the Burns & Gambo show on Arizona Sports 98.7, Carroll talked about facing the Dodgers and what it would mean to win the series.

"Yeah, I would say that would definitely be a win to come away from a series," Carroll said. "You know, with a record like that against a team like this, I would say that would give us a lot of confidence and something to build on going forward. 

"Yeah, I mean it's a really good team over there," Carroll added. "They play well in all facets of the game, you know, their bullpen’s very tough; their starters. I know they got a couple guys banged up right now but, you know, we've seen these guys plenty. So, we know we're in for a tough task."

The Dodgers currently sit atop the National League West Division with a 38-22 record, and the Diamondbacks are in third place with a 32-27 record after Monday’s win, which is still 5.5 games behind Los Angeles.

Carroll is one of the catalysts of Arizona’s offense, and it is at its best when he is producing, but he knows that he cannot put too much pressure on himself.

"I think that it's just applicable to life," Carroll said. "And just, some things, like the harder you try, you know, especially in a game like baseball, it's not always when you're trying your hardest that you know, you have the best results.

"And so, I think just trying to trust my process, take it a day at a time," he added. "Realize that not every day is going to be great and being okay with that, and just keep working and putting in the hours. That's kind of my, you know, mentality this year."

This season, Carroll is hitting .286 with a .913 OPS, and he is confident that the Diamondbacks have the talent to stack up against the Dodgers or any other opponent.

"Yeah, I mean, we've got a talented team," Carroll said. "I think, reasonably, a lot of things would have to go right for us, but I just feel like we have the players and the staff and the will to go out there and compete with anybody. "So, I wouldn't put anything out of the question."
