For Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Corbin Carroll, a return to Seattle is a special experience.

Prior to facing the Los Angeles Dodgers in their current four-game series, the Arizona Diamondbacks visited the Seattle Mariners for a three-game set, which was a full-circle moment for Corbin Carroll.

Carroll, who is a native of Seattle and grew up going to Mariners games, found himself back in T-Mobile Park as a player for the third time in his career. In a recent appearance on the Burns & Gambo show on Arizona Sports 98.7, Carroll talked about what playing there means for him.

"Yeah, it's always a great time," Carroll said. "It's like you said, growing up a Mariners fan, that'd be the ballpark that I went to growing up. Just, yeah, I kind of caught myself looking around a couple times and being like, 'It's pretty cool.'"

Carroll, 25, also discussed some of his favorite memories as a Mariners fan growing up.

"Yeah, I mean King Felix [Hernandez] and the King's court," Carroll said. "Everyone's got their K signs. That was kind of.. That was probably the coolest little gimmick."

Carroll also said that he went to about 10 Mariners games a year as a result of a group ticket split his father participated in. For Carroll, baseball was always his favorite sport, and his return to Seattle was welcomed by family and friends.

"I got really lucky," Carroll said. "My mom handled that. She got like a group ticket package and kind of was just like, 'Hey, like let's all sit together; get a good group.’ So, had over a hundred between the couple days."

Carroll, a two-time All-Star, first returned to T-Mobile Park as a player during All-Star Week in 2023 following his first selection.

"Yeah, no doubt, that was super special," Carroll said about the experience. "That first night honestly was playoff loud. It was, you know, I think a big weekend for them in terms of great weather; doing a couple giveaways like the 90s weekend. So, they got a great crowd there and it was loud."

Given his age, Carroll was not old enough to witness the days of Randy Johnson and Alex Rodriguez donning Mariners uniforms, but he does remember watching Ichiro Suzuki.

"Ichiro was kind of my first memory," Carroll said. "But yeah, probably 2006-2007, those are kind of my first memories."

The Diamondbacks and the Dodgers split the first two games of the series, and Carroll and his team will look to get back on top on Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. MST.
