The All-Star second baseman is distancing himself from the pack, pairing elite metrics with a torrid power surge that has anchored the Arizona Diamondbacks' offense through late June.
Arizona Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte is on an absolute heater as he's homered in four straight games.
Marte is coming off a stellar two-hit night, where he drove in three runs thanks to a solo homer and a massive triple.
Now up to 17 home runs on the year, Marte continues to pull away as this team's leader. There are only two players on the team with double-digit home runs, and Corbin Carroll isn't exactly the closest to Marte as he only has 13.
To no surprise, Marte also leads the team with his 53 RBIs. For reference, the next closest is 44. All-in-all, he's the team leader with his 86 hits which is three more than Carroll has.
Marte Homers in Fourth Straight Game
When you're hot, you're hot. Marte embodies that statement like no other as he just crushed a 431-foot homer to right field off Adrian Houser.
The night prior, Marte hit a leadoff home run that was measured at 367 feet. Prior to that, he gave the Diamondbacks their lone run in a 5-1 loss at Tropicana Field with a 424-foot bomb. Finally, the party was started the night prior with a 430-foot blast in the dome.
Sure, Marte has homered in four straight games, but he's also homered in five of his last six. Somehow, every single home run he has in that span are solo shots.
The Diamondbacks are 3-2 in that span where Marte has hit a homer, but it's not like he's given them that much of a boost as he's only driving himself in. Still, it's incredible he's been this hot for a relatively large sample size. Marte rounded out the month of June with eight home runs and 20 RBIs.
Marte's Advanced Numbers
According to Baseball Savant, Marte is among the best in the league in terms of his expected averages. Marte finds himself in the 91st percentile for his xwOBA (.377), the 92nd percentile for his xSLG (.519), and the 98th percentile for his xBA (.301).
Expected averages are one thing, but his true numbers are another. Overall, his slash line this season sits at .265/.320/.486 with an OPS of .806. Even with all of the home runs he's been hitting, Marte, historically, has a higher OPS than what he's put forward this season.
In 2025, Marte finished the year with an OPS of .893 while it was as high as .932 the year prior. One would have to go back to 2019, when his OPS reached a career-high .981.
