Eduardo Rodríguez secured the 100th victory of his career and keeps stabilizing the Arizona Diamondbacks’ rotation.
Eduardo Rodríguez reached an important milestone Wednesday while continuing what has become one of the strongest stretches of his MLB career.
The Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander earned the win against the Los Angeles Angels after allowing one run on six hits (one home run) while striking out five and walking three in seven innings in an 8-1 victory.
The outing did not begin perfectly.
Rodríguez surrendered a solo home run to Zach Neto in the opening inning and briefly appeared vulnerable early in the game.
From that point forward, however, he settled into a rhythm and took control.
The veteran left-hander responded by delivering six consecutive scoreless innings and guided Arizona to an important win while recording the 100th victory of his career.
That milestone reflects both durability and sustained success over more than a decade in the majors.
Rodríguez has quietly become one of the most effective starters in baseball this season.
Over his last six outings, he has completed at least six innings while allowing two runs or fewer four different times.
His ability to consistently work deep into games has helped stabilize Arizona’s rotation during a season filled with uncertainty.
For the year, Rodríguez is now 6-2 with a career-best 2.45 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP in 88.1 innings over 15 starts. He has recorded a 65:35 K:BB.
His next scheduled start is expected to come against the St. Louis Cardinals as he looks to continue what has become a resurgent season.
The milestone also provides an opportunity to reflect on the broader scope of his career.
Rodríguez is 100-68 with a 4.08 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 1,362 strikeouts in 88.1 innings over 256 appearances (250 starts) in 11 years with the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and Diamondbacks.
