The Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves in a hole.

Of course, they lost Game 1 of the 2025 World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 11-4.

The Dodgers offense on Friday night amounted to five singles and Shohei Ohtani's two-run homer.

That's not good enough and the Dodgers have to do better.

It has to happen on Saturday night with Yoshinobu Yamamoto getting the start for Los Angeles. Kevin Gausman gets the start for Toronto.

First pitch is set for 8 p.m. Eastern and the game will be televised on Fox. If you happen to have a SiriusXM subscription, the Dodgers and Blue Jays home announcers can be found on the app or laptop platform. ESPN Radio also will be carrying a broadcast of Game 2.

The Blue Jays would like nothing better than to get out of Rogers Centre with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Come along and join us here at Dodgers Roundtable as we keep track of what's happening in Game 2.

    Top 6th Inning
Before play starts, one of the more touching moments in the World Series coverage is when everyone has a "I Stand Up For Cancer" sign with names of loved ones or friends people are thinking of on Saturday night. A very kind and tender moment in the midst of two teams looking to win the World Series.

Jonas Brothers now perform song. This really does delay the game and one wonders how it might affect the Dodgers and Blue Jays going forward. Something to watch as Game 2 rolls along.

(Editorial comment: It's a kind thing to do the cancer break in the game, but I am not sure if putting a song on in the middle of a game is a good idea. Still, the moment itself is worth pausing and remembering those who struggle with cancer or, sadly, have died from it.)

Pages lines out on first pitch. One out.
Shohei now up and hearing some boos from the Rogers Centre crowd. Pops out to third baseman Clement. Two outs.
Mookie coming up now. Betts pops out to first baseman Guerrero Jr., who makes a snazzy catch.

Barger now up. Pops out to shortstop. Three outs.
    No runs for Blue Jays.

It's getting late, as has been already noted, at Rogers Centre. Dodgers better hope Yamamoto can go another inning or two.

    Top 7th Inning
Freeman flies out to center. One out.
Will Smith now up. SOLO HOMER TO LEFT FIELD!!! Smith hits a solo homer and puts DODGERS UP 2-1!!!

Muncy at the plate. MAX BABY!!! OPPO TACO HOMER!!! DODGERS NOW UP 3-1!!!

Smith grounds into a forceout, two outs, Ohtani scores from third. DODGERS 5-1!!!

BUT WHAT AN INNING FOR DODGER BLUE!!! TWO MORE RUNS!!! DODGERS LEAD 5-1!!!
