The Los Angeles Dodgers drop their final series of the first half of the season to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The All-Star Break couldn't come quicker for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Friday's series-opening loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks was all about the errors.

Fast forward to Saturday evening, and the lack of offense was the thorn poking at the Dodgers' side as the Diamondbacks took the final series of the first half with a 9-2 final.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto took the mound for Los Angeles in hopes of avoiding the series loss and forcing a rubber match on Sunday.

Skipper Dave Roberts revealed that the newly selected All-Star would not be available to pitch in this year's All-Star Game.

Despite not pitching in the Midsummer Classic, Roberts called Yamamoto's first-half efforts "remarkable" per the Bleed Los Podcast.

"Yoshinobu takes very good care of himself. Very intentional about his work and preparation," Roberts said on Yamamoto's first half. "He's just a tough, tough competitor. Everything is important to him."

With that revelation, all bullets were loaded in the chamber for Yamamoto to toss one more solid start before the festivities began.

Unfortunately, the Diamondbacks tagged Yamamoto for six earned runs through five hits.

Though Yamamoto recorded six strikeouts, his command of the baseball was lost as he issued four free passes.

Arizona took advantage of an off day for Yamamoto, especially with a five-run sixth inning capped by a James McCann home run.

They followed that up with a two-run eighth inning brought to you by back-to-back jacks from Nolan Arenado and McCann's second home run.

The Dodgers' offense, on the other hand, was stifling once more.

Their only runs came in the sixth inning with a two-spot produced by RBI singles from Andy Pages and Mookie Betts.

As a team, the Dodgers went 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.

With the loss, the Dodgers drop to 61-35. They will look to avoid the series sweep on Sunday with Emmet Sheehan taking the mound for the final game before the All-Star break.
