The Arizona Diamondbacks sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers in the last series of the first half.
The All-Star break couldn't arrive any faster.
It's been an unconventional brand of baseball lately for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Arizona Diamondbacks' sweep of the Dodgers by a 5-3 final on Sunday afternoon was more evident of that.
That was the first time since September 2017 that the Diamondbacks managed to sweep the Dodgers at home, and it's the first time this season that the Dodgers have been swept.
Heading into the final series of the first half, the Dodgers committed just 24 errors (the fewest in MLB). Fast forward to the end of Sunday, and Los Angeles registered nine errors in just three games.
The Dodgers had the jump on Arizona to kick off the series closer as Shohei Ohtani, who is set to have his knee drained following the game, led off the home half of the first with his 22nd long ball of the season.

After that, it was nothing but goose eggs.
The Dodgers proceeded to finish off the game 0-for-18 at the plate since Edman's RBI single.
That skid gave the Diamondbacks enough time to mount yet another comeback against their division rival, though it wasn't shaping out to be like that in the beginning.
Emmet Sheehan toed the rubber for Los Angeles in the final game of the first half and looked consistent through four innings.
The Diamondbacks waited patiently until the fifth inning to strike.
Following back-to-back doubles from Ildemaro Vargas and Nolan Arenado, Arizona put up their first run of the ballgame. Ryan Waldschmidt followed that up with a sacrifice fly to put the Diamondbacks within one run.
Arizona knocked Sheehan out of the game with just one out recorded in the sixth inning. Sheehan managed to strike out seven in 5.1 innings pitched.
He was responsible for the tying run on third that came around to score via a Max Muncy throwing error from third base.
Vargas hit an RBI single off Edgardo Henriquez to complete the comeback for Arizona.
Tim Tawa added the additional insurance run in the ninth inning with his second home run of the series. In the three-game set, he drove in seven RBIs.
With the loss, the Dodgers cap off the first half of the season with a record of 61-36.
