The Los Angeles Dodgers win their final regular-season series against the San Francisco Giants.
Los Angeles Dodgers starter Blake Snell checked off an important box with his four innings recorded in a 4-3 series win over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.
In the pregame, manager Dave Roberts was adamant that Snell could reach the five-inning mark in his last tuneup before the Postseason kicks off.
"Honestly, five innings is probably just an arbitrary number," Roberts said to the media via SportsNetLA. "He hasn't pitched a whole lot, then going into the postseason, so there's a balance between getting your work in, making sure you feel good coming out of it."
Despite not recording the intended five innings, it seems as though Snell came out of his start well enough to give the Dodgers what they need to move ahead and put any concerns about his groin flaring up again to rest.

Who will Dodgers start in NLDS?
That would fall between Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tarik Skubal. Skubal is coming off his most dominant outing as a member of the Dodgers on Friday, with seven scoreless innings and striking out 10 Giants in the 2-0 win.
The Los Angeles offense sparked when it needed to against San Francisco. Mookie Betts led off the scoring for the Dodgers in the third inning with his 23rd home run of the season and his seventh long ball in his last 21 games.
Giants would tie the game in the next half-inning with a sacrifice fly, but a two-run fourth inning, with a pair of RBI singles by Miguel Rojas and Tommy Edman, gave the Dodgers a somewhat comfortable 3-1 lead.
Before the bottom of the seventh, Blake Treinen was slated to appear, but was quickly shut down from warming up and headed down to the Dodgers dugout with a member of the training staff.
That insinuated Brock Stewart to take his spot, and he gave up an RBI triple to Drew Cavanaugh, and Evan Phillips gave up a game-tying sacrifice fly to Bo Davidson in the eighth.
Postseason hero Kiké Hernández looked to be in October form as he launched his fourth home run of the season in the top of the ninth for a go-ahead shot that proved to be the difference maker.
With the win, the Dodgers have won 16 of their last 21 games and have improved to 99-62 with just one more game to play in the regular season.
