For the second consecutive day, the Los Angeles Dodgers' offense was on fire in beating Washington Nationals.
The Los Angeles Dodgers' offense has officially clicked, and outfielder Andy Pages is leading the way.
Pages has undeniably been the Dodgers' best hitter, and showcased that claim even more with a 3-for-5 day at the plate, including a three-run home run [his third of the season], in a 10-5 win against the Washington Nationals.
In a star-studded lineup filled with former MVPs, current MVPs, and future Hall of Famers, Pages is stealing the show.
Though the 25-year-old is leading the charge offensively, the other bats in the Dodgers' lineup produced heavily, just as they did the previous day.
Freddie Freeman began the scoring for Los Angeles, slashing a two-run RBI double to give the Dodgers an early 2-0 lead in the first.
The mood dampened for a moment. In the next inning, Mookie Betts was replaced by Miguel Rojas at shortstop. Betts had an at-bat in the first inning, which resulted in a walk, and later scored on Freeman's double.
Betts was noticeably slow heading back to the dugout, and the Dodgers announced that he had right lower back pain.
Rojas added to the abundance of runs with a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to extend the lead to 3-0. Freeman made it double, hitting his second two-run RBI double that put up five early runs.
Alex Call, who is making his debut in the starting lineup, cashed in a RBI single the following inning.
Pages followed that up with his three-run home run that pushed the Dodgers' lead to 9-2.
Following the home run, Pages raised his batting average to a clean .500 [14-28] and leads all of the MLB with 15 hits.
A Kyle Tucker RBI single in the top half of the seventh made it back-to-back days that the Dodgers' offense scored 10-plus runs.
On the other hand, Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow did his job tremendously on the mound.
In six innings, he allowed just two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out a season high nine punchouts.
With the win, the Dodgers secure another series victory to begin their season, and look for the potential sweep on Easter Sunday with Roki Sasaki taking the bump.
