The Dodgers break their four-game skid behind solid performance from Justin Wrobleski.

The skid is abolished.

Coming off their fourth straight loss on Saturday, which came from the hands of the St.Louis Cardinals in what was another abysmal performance offensively, the Dodgers desperately needed a spark and needed it now.

They managed to leave St.Louis with a bit of satisfaction on Sunday, avoiding the series sweep and salvaging the final game of their three-game series with a 4-1 win.

It would be a reunion in St.Louis as right-hander Dustin May took the mound for the Cardinals.

Ahead of Sunday's matinee, Dave Roberts noted that May would be coming into this start with a bit of a chip on his shoulder and adrenaline on the rise.

With emotions running high on the mound for May, Roberts said that the Dodgers' offense would need to capitalize on the mistakes. Boy, did they.

For the first time since Monday, the Dodgers jumped ahead in front with an RBI double provided by Andy Pages. Hyeseong Kim would provide extra insurance with an RBI single that put a two-spot in the second inning.

Freddie Freeman put his name in the scoring hat in the fifth inning with an RBI single of his own and pushed his batting average to .365 when he plays in St.Louis.

The Dodgers capped off their scoring in the ninth inning via an Alex Call pinch-hit RBI single.

"I thought, collectively, the at-bats were good," Roberts said. "Getting timely hits, having some good walks, and some good at-bats. We didn't break out today, but we scored more than they did, so that's a good start."

Even with the win, the Dodgers did not hit another home run, pushing their streak without hitting a longball to six consecutive games.

Justin Wrobleski took the mound for his fifth start of the season and continued to prove why he can handle the mantle of being a formidable MLB pitcher.

The southpaw recorded six scoreless innings against the Cardinals and gave up six hits. Though he was put through traffic in pretty much every single frame he pitched and put up a goose egg in the strikeout category, the Cardinals were unable to produce anything.

"I am never going to give back six zeros," Wrobleski said on his outing on Sunday. "However I need to do it, I'll do it."

In his last 32 innings pitched, Wrobleski has posted an ERA below one (0.56) and has struck out 13.

"It's a culmination of a lot of things and a lot of stuff that we've been working on," Wrobleski said on his recent success on the mound.

"It's just continuing to harp on a lot of those things that make me good, I guess."

With the win, the Dodgers improve to a 21-12 record and now look towards a three-game series against the Houston Astros. Los Angeles will have the top of their rotation going against Houston as Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, and Tyler Glasnow toe the rubber.
