Tyler Glasnow pushes the Los Angeles Dodgers to a series win over the Detroit Tigers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will have a happy flight back home after securing a series win against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday with a 6-1 victory.
On a day in which the hopeful wish of Shohei Ohtani returning to the mound was quickly dismissed by Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts on Saturday, right-hander Tyler Glasnow was going into Sunday prepared to pitch in any form for Los Angeles.
In just his second start back since being activated off the Injured List, Glasnow reached the seventh inning. He allowed just one earned run across those seven innings while striking out six on two hits in a day that benefited a taxed bullpen.
Glasnow capped off his outing by retiring the final 10 batters he faced after issuing his lone walk of the game in the bottom of the fourth to Dillon Dingler.

Just as it's been presented all road trip, the Dodgers' offense continued to scuffle in trying to find its stride in Sunday's win, but Miguel Rojas jump-started the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the fourth after back-to-back singles from Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts.
Fast forward to the top of the sixth, and Teoscar Hernández found himself with a runner in scoring position thanks to a Freeman double off Framber Valdez.
Hernández took Valdez's 0-1 changeup deep to left-center field for a two-run shot that gave the Dodgers a 3-1 lead.

Two wild pitches from Tigers righty Tanner Rainey with the bases loaded and a pinch-hit RBI single from Max Muncy made up the three runs.
With the win, the Dodgers improve to 82-55 and have won 8-of-12 since August 17. They also remain just three games back of the top seed in the National League (trailing the Milwaukee Brewers) and are tied with the Atlanta Braves for the second seed.
Looking ahead, Los Angeles will have an off day tomorrow as they travel back home to kick off a lengthy nine-game home stand on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Eric Lauer will toe the slab in the series opener, followed by ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Tuesday, and Tarik Skubal rounds it out as the closer on Thursday.
