The bats were alive for the Los Angeles Dodgers in their series victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue their first road trip out of the break with a lopsided 9-5 series-clinching victory against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night.

Dalton Rushing mashed at the plate with a 2-for-4 night, driving in three runs for the Dodgers. Max Muncy picked up right where he left off with his 20th home run of the season in a 1-for-5 day, and Tommy Edman capped off his three-hit day with a bases-clearing triple in the eighth that sealed the game away.

"This is the best version we've seen of him," Dave Roberts said of Edman since he's returned from the Injured List via SportsNetLA. "It's changed our ball club getting him back."

In terms of Muncy, he now stands alone as the lone Dodger with the second-most home runs hit in "Los Angeles" Dodgers history, with 229. Eric Karros remains at the top spot with 270.

"It's going well right now. Everything feels good. Short little rest did wonders for the body," Muncy told the media via SportsNetLA.

Along with that, Muncy has had a heck of a road trip. In six games on the East Coast, the 35-year-old third baseman has recorded two doubles, three home runs, and driven in seven RBIs.

"Can't say enough about him; invaluable," Roberts said on Muncy's success during this road trip.

The Phillies jumped on Dodgers starter Eric Lauer — who hadn't pitched in 16 days — early with Alec Bohm launching a two-run shot in the bottom of the first.

Lauer, just like he's done since joining the Dodgers, settled in and recorded three scoreless frames before Bryan De La Cruz, who was making his debut, hit a game-tying solo shot that scathed the glove of an extended Andy Pages.

By the time he walked off the mound, Lauer struck out five across 5.1 innings.

"He doesn't ever want to give up the baseball," Roberts said on Lauer's performance. "That's a good trait for a starting pitcher."

The Dodgers responded with Muncy's two-run go-ahead blast in the sixth and took over the scoring from then on out.

"We're just playing good baseball," Lauer said to the media via SportsNetLA.

With the win, the Dodgers improve to 65-38 and have won four of their last six games this road trip. Los Angeles has an off day tomorrow, but it will be reserved for traveling to Washington, D.C., for a White House visit to commemorate their 2025 World Series victory.

Following the visit, the Dodgers will cap off their road trip with a three-game weekend set against the New York Mets beginning on Friday.

Los Angeles will have Roki Sasaki toeing the slab in the series opener against Sean Manea.
