Blake Snell continues to dominate on the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers, shutting out the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Blake Snell, who was making just his third start since coming off the Injured List, continued to perform like he never left. He shut down the Pirates for six scoreless innings and gave up two hits with six punchouts.
Furthermore, Pittsburgh's hitters had no answer for Snell's signature fastball, which generated five of the six strikeouts he recorded. They went 0-for-10 on the southpaw's fastball.
With the Pirates being blanked on the scoresheet, the last time they scored any runs was the three-spot they tagged on Tarik Skubal on Saturday.
Since coming off the IL, Snell has posted a 1.00 ERA and has allowed three earned runs in his last 18 innings.

The continuous quality performances on the mound from Snell should come as no surprise as Dodgers' skipper Dave Roberts had said before his return to the mound in early August that Snell looked like someone "on a mission."
With the recent updates on Shohei Ohtani potentially returning to the mound as early as next week — all dependent on how Ohtani comes out of his next bullpen during the Atlanta Braves series — and Tyler Glasnow returning from injury on Tuesday, the rotation is tearing off the bandages for a full recovery.
In just two games thus far, newcomer Alek Thomas — who's taking on the role of replacing Andy Pages since his broken-hand diagnosis — has not disappointed.
He drove in another RBI single on Sunday in the bottom of the fourth, similar to Saturday's 4-3 win, and went 1-for-3.
Hunter Fedducia would cash in an RBI single of his own that followed up Thomas', and Max Muncy rounded out the scoring on a force ground out that drove in the Dodgers' fourth run of the game.
The Dodgers' bullpen worked efficiently in the shutout, with Edgardo Henriquez, Brock Stewart, and Alex Vesia recording the final nine outs.
With the win, the Dodgers earned their 80th victory and improved to 80-51 overall. Monday marks a travel day for Los Angeles, as they set their sights en route to play the Braves for three games beginning Tuesday.
Following that, the Dodgers will round out the month of August with a three-game set against the Detroit Tigers before heading back home to open up September.
