The Los Angeles Dodgers will turn their attention to a pair of elite starters to spark a resurgence and ignite a struggling lineup.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were once sitting pretty with the best record in all of baseball, but now they've fallen to 70-48.

While that's still a stellar record, on paper, it doesn't tell the full story.

LA has now lost 10 of their last 13 games, including seven in a row from Friday, July 31 to Friday, August 7.

This is a Dodgers team that has uncharacteristically lost three straight series, and they're in the midst of a stretch where they're stuck playing 13 straight games without an off-day.

A series like that isn't exclusive to the Dodgers, but it couldn't have come at a worse time.

Now, all eyes are on the newly acquired ace, Tarik Skubal, along with Blake Snell, who's set to make just his second start of the year.

Skubal must deliver in first home start for the Dodgers

That's not to say that Skubal didn't deliver in his first overall start with the Dodgers, but he'll once again need to be superhuman as this is a Dodgers offense that simply hasn't had it in the past few weeks.

Skubal pitched a strong six innings at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, Aug. 4 in an outing that saw him allow just two earned runs on four hits. The 29-year-old went six innings in that game in what just happened to be his shortest start since Sunday, July 12.

The Dodgers failed to give him any run support, and he was stuck taking the loss and falling to 7-6 on the year.

Ultimately, Skubal can only do so much. There's no doubt these Dodgers fans will be behind him, and he desperately needs to give this team another strong outing, one that can take a bit of pressure off this lackluster offense.

How will Snell look in his return?

It's been an incredibly long recovery process for Snell, and he's a guy who has already been on the Injured List twice this season.

After not making his first start until Saturday, May 9, Snell went just three innings before he was pulled after allowing four earned runs on six hits in 77 pitches.

Snell was later placed on the 60-day IL, and now it's finally time for him to wear a Dodgers uniform again.

Skubal will take the mound on Monday, Aug. 10, in the Dodgers' series opener against the Kansas City Royals, while Snell follows in game two as these two former Cy Young Award winners look to get LA back on track.
