Roberts reveals lineup adjustments and a strategic pitching approach, aiming to ignite the offense and potentially feature Kershaw at home.

As the World Series returns to Dodger Stadium tied at one game each, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts met with reporters on the team’s off day to discuss adjustments, pitching plans, and how the club aims to regain momentum heading into Game 3.

For Roberts, the message was simple: focus on execution, not the series narrative. “Obviously, we’re trying to win tomorrow,” Roberts said. “We have to have Tyler [Glasnow] come out and pitch well. We know Scherzer from years past—he’s going to come in, compete, and make pitches. We just have to have a good game plan, execute, and play sound baseball.”

Offensively, the Dodgers have generated traffic but struggled to cash in. Roberts said he isn’t surprised by the lack of slug early in the series, crediting Toronto’s arms while maintaining confidence that his lineup is close to breaking through. “The two starters we faced have made really good pitches,” Roberts said. “We’ve missed some pitches as well. But coming home, I feel that we’re back in a rhythm offensively—it should show itself these next three games.”

Roberts also acknowledged that center fielder Andy Pages’ struggles remain a consideration for potential lineup changes. “It’s front of mind,” Roberts said. “Certainly, the performance hasn’t been there. We’re thinking of other options.”

One of the more sentimental topics involved Clayton Kershaw, who could be pitching in his final home games as a Dodger. Roberts said he’d love to find a spot for the veteran left-hander if the situation allows. “I would love to get him into one of these games if it’s right,” Roberts said. “But first and foremost, I’m going to make decisions that help us win that particular game.”

With three straight games ahead, Roberts emphasized the importance of his rotation’s durability. “It’s critical,” he said. “Fortunately, we’re comprised of a rotation that can log innings. It starts with the starters going deeper.”

Roberts also spoke highly of Kershaw’s leadership in a limited role this postseason. “He’s handled this last month with class and professionalism,” Roberts said. “He’s been a big asset for the guys in the bullpen.”

As the Dodgers prepare to host Game 3, Roberts’ focus remains unchanged: stay disciplined, trust the plan, and lean on the club’s experience to swing the series in their favor.
