Veteran left-hander Logan Allen lands with the Los Angeles Dodgers after pitching in Korea and representing Canada in the WBC.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have added experienced pitching depth, agreeing to a minor-league contract with left-hander Logan Allen, according to a report from Shi Davidi of Sportsnet, as relayed by MLB Trade Rumors.
Allen, 28, returns to affiliated baseball after spending the 2025 season overseas in the Korean Baseball Organization. Pitching for the NC Dinos, he handled a heavy workload, making 32 starts and logging 173 innings.
While durable, his results were mixed, finishing with a 4.53 ERA in a league generally considered favorable to pitchers. His strikeout rate also landed near the lower tier among qualified starters.
A veteran of parts of five major-league seasons, Allen has previously pitched for multiple organizations, including the Cleveland Guardians, San Diego Padres, Baltimore Orioles, and Arizona Diamondbacks. His most recent big-league action came in Arizona in 2024, when he posted a 5.46 ERA across 28 innings.
Following his season in Korea, Allen’s path appeared to be heading toward Mexico for 2026. However, an opportunity to pitch on the international stage helped shift his trajectory.
Representing Team Canada in the World Baseball Classic, Allen turned in an efficient performance, allowing just one run over 3 1/3 innings across two appearances. That showing caught the attention of Dodgers evaluators and opened the door for a return to an MLB organization.
With the Dodgers, Allen is expected to begin the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he’ll provide flexibility as either a starting option or a long reliever. His ability to handle innings could prove valuable for a club that consistently leans on depth throughout a long season.
While not a headline-grabbing addition, Allen’s signing reflects Los Angeles’ ongoing strategy of stockpiling experienced arms who can contribute when needed.
If he can translate his workload durability into improved results, then Allen could position himself as a viable call-up option later in the year.
