The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their win a game, lose a game streak after falling to the Chicago White Sox on Sunday at Rate Field in Chicago.

After the game, interim manager Danny Lehmann, who filled in for Dave Roberts as he attended his daughter's college graduation, spoke with the media about the loss, and he was both honest about the Dodgers’ shortcomings while praising the good things they did.

"I think, obviously, Freddie [Freeman] had some really good at-bats today," Lehmann said in video provided by Spectrum SportsNet LA and Bleed Los. "Mookie [Betts] looked really good, which is really encouraging. [Dalton] Rushing had some, [Ryan] Ward at the bottom. Like overall, I think we had a decent day at the plate. 

"Like some really good at-bats there at the end," Lehmann added. "Obviously getting to their closer and getting them in the zone. But yeah, we had a little lull in the middle there and we kind of had some quick innings and lost some momentum."

Lehmann heaped additional praise on Betts, who has gone 5-for-9 in his last two games with a home run. Betts has struggled this season, hitting just .204 with seven home runs and a .641 OPS, but Lehmann believes he is showing improvement.

"Yeah, absolutely," Lehmann said. "I think over the last three or four games, Mookie's been, you know, trending the right way for sure. But I think just the quality of contact is way up for Mookie. Even some of his outs in this series were really good, really hard hit barrel balls to the outfield. 

"And so, it's really encouraging for us for Mookie to get back to where I know he wants to be," Lehmann added. "And we all know that he can be there."

When it comes to Betts, Lehmann sees that putting the ball in the air and making contact overall is the concrete approach to better results for the 33-year-old, but Lehmann believes there is more to it than that.

"Yeah, I mean, I think results-wise, yeah, you can look at it like that," Lehmann said. "I don't know if it's that easy, I guess, to say. But I think most hitters have success pulling the ball in the air, right? And so you can kind of say that about everyone.

"But Mookie specifically, I think he's just working on stuff to get more consistency with his swing, which in turn, he'll pull more balls in the air," he added. "But even the line drive to right field yesterday, that's impressive, too. So, he's been hitting the ball over the field and hitting it hard, and that's good for us, good for the Dodgers."
