Facing a daunting 0-2 deficit, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts shuffles the deck.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were the first team to submit their lineup for Game 3 of the 2026 National League Championship Series.

In a rematch of last year's NLCS, the Dodgers find themselves in a surprising 0-2 deficit against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Even if the Dodgers were to sweep the Brewers across these next three nights, they'd have to go back to American Family Field and do something that hasn't been done yet this postseason, and that's beat the Brewers in Milwaukee.

That said, manager Dave Roberts knows he and this team have to take things one game at a time.

As promised, Shohei Ohtani remains in the lineup, though their designated hitter is now batting sixth.

A few notable changes have been made, but none more eye opening than Kyle Tucker skyrocketing to the cleanup spot.

Previously, Tucker had been batting eighth, so this is a huge move up for someone who signed a massive $240 million deal to come to LA in the offseason.

Dodgers NLCS Game 3 lineup

1. Mookie Betts, SS

2. Freddie Freeman, 1B

3. Teoscar Hernandez, LF

4. Kyle Tucker, RF

5. Andy Pages, CF

6. Shohei Ohtani, DH

7. Will Smith, C

8. Miguel Rojas, 3B

9. Tommy Edman, 2B

As previously reported, Blake Snell will take the mound in Game 3 against Robert Gasser. It'll be a pair of lefties getting the start, though it'll be interesting to see if a starting pitcher can go deeper than five innings for the first time all series.

Ohtani falls to sixth

While he had batted lower in the lineup during the National League Division Series, Roberts decided to keep Ohtani at the cleanup spot in each of the first two NLCS games.

Ohtani's lone hit in the NLCS came in Game 1, and this team is thankful that he was able to enjoy Tuesday, Oct. 13, off as he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Game 2.

Max Muncy, who is out of the Game 3 lineup, had batted sixth in each of the first two games.

For what it's worth, Muncy was pinch-hit for by Rojas in Game 3, though the 37-year-old is just 0-for-1 in the NLCS with a strikeout.

Tucker is batting cleanup

There's no bigger observation to be made than what's happening with Tucker's spot in the lineup. This is a guy who's just 1-for-5 in the series with a double and two walks, but now he's back to batting fourth in the lineup.

Tucker is no stranger to hitting fourth as he had 98 at-bats there during the regular season.

The 29-year-old is a left-handed hitter who hit .247 against southpaws this season, so Gasser getting the start likely has a lot to do with him moving up in the lineup.
