Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy knows what it will take for the Dodgers to win another World Series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently Major League Baseball’s best team at 61-33 and, so far, their chase for a third consecutive World Series title seems promising.

However, they are not immune to the ups and downs that accompany a 162-game regular season, and they are being hit especially hard in terms of health.

The Dodgers currently have 12 players on the Injured List, many of which are key contributors. Names such as Edwin Diaz, Kike Hernandez and Blake Snell occupy the IL and, while Los Angeles is producing desirable results now, the health of its roster is going to be integral for a deep postseason run.

In a recent episode of "On Base" with his teammate and Dodgers star shortstop, Mookie Betts, third baseman Max Muncy talked about what it will take for Los Angeles to retain its winning ways.

"I think it's just us trying to find a way to stay healthy," Muncy said. "I mean, look, again, we've been through it. 162, you're going to have your ups, you're gonna have your downs."

Muncy also took an optimistic view when he praised the young players that have stepped into roles left vacant by those who are injured.

"But it's easier to go through all of that when you have your guys, you know, when you got guys filling in and, you know, and then our young guys are amazing," he said. "You know, the guys that have come up and filled the roles, they've done an amazing job. You look at what Ryan Ward did for us for a couple of weeks.

"But when you have your guys," Muncy added, "it just kind of makes it easier to go through those lulls. And you know, you don't feel, you feel like you're just showing up every single day and just doing the job and doing what you need to do. You know, and I think for us, just being healthy is the key to us continuing to dominate throughout the season."

Muncy, 35, and Betts, 33, are two of the team’s seasoned veterans, and both have known what it is like to deal with injuries and other health issues in recent seasons.

"I would say the exact same thing," Betts told Muncy. "I mean, health is wealth at this point, especially for us. I mean, cause we got the guys that we got when we're healthy is, you know, it's top notch. It's top notch."

In Muncy’s view, when the Dodgers are healthy, they are an unconquerable force.

"I mean, on paper, you're not beating it," Muncy said. "But again, like you look at how many guys we got on the IL right now and, you know, some of the starting pitching, pitching we got on the aisle and, you know, Kike and Will [Smith] and all these guys.

"And so just, you know, it'd be nice to get them all back at once, but at the same time, we don't need them back until October."
