Top Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Zyhir Hope powered Double-A Tulsa to a victory with a six-RBI performance as his breakout season continues.
The Los Angeles Dodgers' farm system continues to showcase why it is regarded as one of baseball's deepest, and outfielder Zyhir Hope added another memorable performance to his growing résumé on Friday night.
The 21-year-old slugger paced Double-A Tulsa's 10-5 victory over Wichita, finishing with six RBIs, including a go-ahead three-run homer that broke open a tie game in the late innings.
It marked the second time this season that Hope has driven in six runs in a game, highlighting the offensive consistency that has fueled his breakout campaign.
Clutch Swing Changes the Game
Hope made an impact from the opening inning, delivering an RBI single to give Tulsa an early lead after Elijah Hainline worked a walk and advanced into scoring position.
He later added another RBI on a fielder's choice in the sixth inning, bringing home fellow top prospect Mike Sirota after the outfielder reached base to begin the frame.
With the game deadlocked entering the seventh, Tulsa created another scoring opportunity when Sirota reached base and Hainline followed with a double. Hope capitalized, launching a three-run home run to right field that gave Tulsa the lead for good.
He wasn't finished there, adding a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning before also swiping a base to round out another all-around performance.
Production Continues to Climb
Hope has emerged as one of the Dodgers' most productive minor-leaguers this season.
The outfielder has now homered in consecutive games for the fifth time this year, demonstrating the consistent power that has become a hallmark of his offensive profile. His combination of extra-base power and athleticism has allowed him to impact games in multiple ways throughout the season.
Through his time at Double-A, Hope owns an .839 OPS while reaching the 15-home run mark. He also leads the Texas League in RBIs with 68, continuing to establish himself as one of the circuit's premier run producers.
Bright Future Ahead
Acquired as part of the trade that sent Michael Busch to the Chicago Cubs before the 2024 season, Hope has developed into one of the organization's most valuable prospects.
His steady production, improving approach at the plate and ability to deliver in key situations have only strengthened his standing within the Dodgers' loaded farm system.
If Hope continues performing at this level during the second half, then he could put himself in position for another promotion while reinforcing his status as one of the organization's most exciting young talents.
