Los Angeles Dodgers prospects Eduardo Quintero and Emil Morales continued their torrid stretches by combining for three home runs in another explosive performance.
The Los Angeles Dodgers' pipeline continues to showcase its impressive depth, and two of the organization's top position-player prospects put that talent on full display Thursday night.
Eduardo Quintero and Emil Morales powered High-A Great Lakes to a convincing 15-7 victory over the Dayton Dragons, combining for three home runs, eight RBIs, and a relentless offensive attack that overwhelmed the Dragons from the early innings.
Quintero delivered the biggest swing of the night in the third inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, the 20-year-old outfielder crushed a grand slam to center field, giving him his second grand slam in less than two weeks.
The blast also marked his eighth home run of the season as he continues one of the hottest stretches of his young career.
The Dodgers' No. 4 prospect has found another gear at the plate over the past several games. Batting atop the Great Lakes lineup, Quintero has become a consistent catalyst, showing improved power while continuing to reach base at an impressive clip.
He has now homered in consecutive games and already has three long balls in July after matching that total throughout June.
Morales keeps mashing
While Quintero provided the game's biggest moment, Morales matched him with another dominant all-around performance.
The 19-year-old shortstop collected four hits and launched two home runs, including a three-run blast during the second inning before adding a solo shot later in the contest.
It was his third multi-homer game of the season and another reminder of why his offensive ceiling continues to rise.
Morales has now hit 17 home runs this year between Single-A Ontario and High-A Great Lakes, already establishing a new career high. Since earning his promotion in May, he has adjusted seamlessly to tougher competition, with 11 of those home runs coming after joining the Loons.
The recent production from both prospects has been particularly encouraging.
Morales has carried a scorching OPS during July, while Quintero has paired consistent contact with elite slugging production over his recent stretch.
Their emergence gives the Dodgers another wave of exciting young hitters climbing the organizational ladder.
With top prospects already making headlines at Double-A Tulsa, Quintero and Morales are proving that the next group of impact bats isn't far behind, reinforcing the remarkable depth throughout Los Angeles' farm system.
