The Los Angeles Dodgers have completed a trade with the Colorado Rockies, getting reliever Seth Halvorsen from Colorado for two minor-league prospects.
For the first time since 2023, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies completed a trade.
The Dodgers have sent over outfielder Landyn Vidourek (No. 25-ranked prospect) and right-hander Nick Frasso in exchange for Colorado's hard-throwing righty, Seth Halvorsen.
Halvorsen, 26, is one of the hardest throwers in MLB. Even with the triple-digit numbers, he is currently on the 15-day Injured List with right shoulder inflammation dating back to July 4.
He recently began a rehab stint with the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes on Sunday and tossed a scoreless inning. With a new home, the right-hander will now continue his rehab down in Triple-A Oklahoma City with the Comets.
Before landing on the IL, Halvorsen had been through the wringer, as in his last seven appearances, he's been touted for an ERA above 10 and has given up six earned runs in five innings pitched.
In 21 appearances for the Rockies, Halvorsen has generated an ERA of 4.74 across 19 innings pitched in 2026. In 75 career games spanning 71 innings, he has an ERA of 4.31 and has amassed a WHIP of 1.54.
"Hopefully, we can unlock some levers," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said to the media via Sonja Chen of MLB.com before the Dodgers' series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies. "But the arm talent's there. Our guys are really excited about him."
With a boatload of top outfielding prospects down in the farm, the Dodgers are making their way to unload them with the Trade Deadline just two weeks away.
Vidourek, 22, has produced a .170 batting average with six homers in 256 plate appearances for Single-A Ontario Tower Buzzers. The strikeout numbers have stuck out like a sore thumb, as Vidourek strikes out 39% of the time.
Frasso, 27, was a fourth-round draft pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2020 before being shipped off to Los Angeles in 2022. After missing 2024 with a shoulder injury, Frasso took the punches trying to bounce back in his return to the mound.
In 2025, he posted a 5.49 ERA, but his 2026 strikeout numbers have trumped his stats from years past. In 24.2 innings this year for the Tower Buzzers, Frasso has struck out a crooked number of 40 batters.
