The Los Angeles Dodgers are moving Tyler Glasnow to the 60-day Injured List while adding right-hander Nick Frasso to the 40-man roster.

The Los Angeles Dodgers made a pair of roster moves involving their pitching staff on Saturday, transferring right-hander Tyler Glasnow to the 60-day Injured List while selecting the contract of right-hander Nick Frasso.

For Glasnow, the move reflects the reality of an injury recovery that appears likely to extend beyond the near future. The veteran starter has been sidelined since early May after experiencing lower back issues and has not yet resumed throwing.

Glasnow's Return Remains Uncertain

Los Angeles originally placed Glasnow on the Injured List after he was forced to leave a start against the Houston Astros because of lower back spasms. While the club has not provided a firm timetable for his return, the latest roster decision suggests the Dodgers are preparing for a longer absence.

The move makes Glasnow ineligible to return until at least early July, though that timeline may still prove optimistic. Given his lengthy injury history, the organization is expected to take a cautious approach before allowing him to resume game action.

Losing Glasnow for an extended stretch presents another challenge for a Dodgers rotation that has dealt with numerous health concerns throughout the season.

Frasso Earns 40-Man Opportunity

The corresponding move benefits Frasso, who now occupies a spot on the club's 40-man roster after exercising an upward mobility clause in his contract.

Although he will remain at Triple-A Oklahoma City for the time being, the addition prevents the Dodgers from potentially losing him to another organization and gives him a clearer path to a future major-league opportunity.

Frasso arrived in the Dodgers system as part of a 2022 trade with the Toronto Blue Jays and quickly emerged as a notable pitching prospect. His development was interrupted when shoulder surgery cost him the entire 2024 season, and he has spent the past two years working to regain momentum.

Searching for Consistency

Now 27, Frasso has shown flashes of the swing-and-miss arsenal that once made him one of the organization's more intriguing young arms. Through his appearances this season, he has generated strikeouts at an impressive rate, though command issues have also led to an elevated walk total.

The Dodgers have utilized him in both starting and relief roles during his time in the organization, increasing his versatility. While he remains a work in progress, his addition to the 40-man roster signals that Los Angeles still believes there is value in his long-term potential.
