The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to open the 2027 MLB season on Thursday, March 25, as long as there's not a lockout.
On Thursday, July 16, the MLB revealed each team's schedule for next season. With a massive offseason ahead, one can only beg the question: Will there even be a 2027 season?
The short answer is yes, but will it start on March 25? That's where things get interesting. Either way, the Dodgers now know who they can expect from March to September come 2027.
Dodgers' 2027 season opens at home
There's a chance that the Dodgers pull off a historic three-peat, and should they do so, their reward is opening the season at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium against the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves showed promise early in 2026, and that's not to say they're out of it entirely, but they definitely aren't the same team they once were. With so much of the 2026 season yet to be played, one can only imagine the postseason outcome for potentially both teams while anxiously awaiting the 2027 season opener.
Officially, March 25 is the earliest traditional Opening Day in Major League history, according to MLB.com.
The Dodgers open the season at home for a six-game, seven-day homestand. It's a unique Friday off-day for the team before they finish a pair against the Braves and then host the Minnesota Twins from March 29-31.

All-in-all, the 2024 and 2025 World Series Champions have an extremely favorable schedule, in that regard. Getting to play at home on a holiday is great for not just the fans in attendance, but the players as well since they'll be close to home.
When is the 2027 Freeway Series?
Shortly after the 97th All-Star Game, the Los Angeles Angels come to Dodger Stadium on July 16-18. Seeing as the All-Star Game takes place at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, July 13, it's important to note that this is the first official series of the second half.
September notes
September is when things really start to get interesting, and the Dodgers will end the 2027 season on the road. Their final home game is on Sunday, September 19, before they end the season exactly one week later at Chase Field against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
