Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts lays out the plans for Games 1 and 2 of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers, coming off a National League Division Series win over the Atlanta Braves in four games, continue their trek towards a three-peat on Sunday.
The next step will require them to face off against not only the best team in the NL in 2026, but also to set up a rematch of last year's National League Championship Series.
Los Angeles will square off against the 103-win Milwaukee Brewers, and skipper Dave Roberts confirmed on Friday that Tarik Skubal will take the mound in Game 1, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto to follow in Game 2.
Yamamoto pitched in Game 3 of the NLDS to coincide with his regular rest routine, a gamble that worked in the Dodgers' favor.
Skubal takes on task for Dodgers
After sweeping them in four games during the 2025 NLCS, the Brewers are looking to right the wrongs of their early exit the year prior, but they have to get through the back-to-back Cy Young Award winner in the series opener at American Family Field.
Skubal was assigned the task of starting in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Braves last Saturday at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium. Despite the blazing triple-digit weather, the southpaw went six dominant innings and struck out seven in his Dodgers postseason debut.

A marquee pitching matchup that will draw baseball fans everywhere, but that also paints a bigger picture as well.
"I think we’ve got the best rotation top to bottom in baseball," Roberts told reporters on Friday via The Bleed Los Podcast.
That's one of the biggest advantages that the Dodgers have going into this series. Los Angeles could very well line up Blake Snell for Game 3, and Tyler Glasnow could follow for Game 4.
Roberts sets NLCS roster plans
Skubal could very well pitch in Game 5 — if necessary — on four days' rest, but an opener can be in the cards for the Dodgers and Roberts.
Roberts also mentioned that they will be running with a 13/13 split for the NLCS roster as they will run with an extra pitcher and get rid of a position player.
Though it is not confirmed just yet, the Dodgers are holding out hope that they do not have to cut Miguel Rojas from the pact.
Rojas tweaked his lower back in Game 3, but Roberts stated that he participated in baseball activities during the Dodgers off day.
"He took ground balls and took a couple of rounds of BP, so that was good to see," Roberts said.
Hyeseong Kim, who made the NLDS roster with the specific duty as a pinch-runner, could be a likely candidate to replace Rojas if he is not good to go.
