The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to welcome Teoscar Hernández back to their lineup Monday after a successful rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

After spending nearly a month on the Injured List with a strained left hamstring, Teoscar Hernández is projected to be activated before Monday's opener in West Sacramento, Calif., ending an absence that began in late May.
Dodgers Took a Patient Approach
Los Angeles prioritized a cautious recovery plan for Hernández after lessons learned from last season.
When Hernández returned from a groin injury in 2025, he completed only one rehab appearance before rejoining the Dodgers, and the injury continued to affect him throughout the remainder of the season.
This time, both the organization and Hernández opted for a more gradual buildup to ensure he returned at full strength.
His rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City included four appearances in left field, highlighted by a full nine-inning game that demonstrated he was physically ready to handle defensive duties.
Even after his activation, the Dodgers are expected to manage his workload carefully, with the club facing a lengthy stretch without an off day until July 9.
Power Display Encouraging During Rehab
Although Hernández posted a modest batting average during his rehab stint, the quality of his contact stood out.
Three of his hits left the ballpark, providing an encouraging indication that his power stroke remains intact as he prepares to rejoin the major league roster.
Before suffering the hamstring injury, Hernández had been one of the Dodgers' hottest hitters. Over his final 18 games prior to landing on the injured list, he consistently produced at the plate while supplying extra-base power in the middle of Los Angeles' lineup.
Roster and Lineup Adjustments Ahead
A corresponding roster move has not been announced, though outfielder Ryan Ward appears to be the leading candidate to return to Triple-A after serving as additional depth during Hernández's absence.
The Dodgers pieced together left field with a combination of Ward, Alex Call and Tommy Edman while Hernández recovered. His return should allow manager Dave Roberts to restore more defined defensive roles, with Call shifting back into a reserve role and Edman spending more time in the infield.
Hernández is also expected to reclaim a spot in the heart of the batting order, where his production with runners in scoring position has made him one of the Dodgers' most reliable run producers.
If he quickly regains his pre-injury form, Los Angeles' already dangerous lineup could become even more formidable as the season moves into July.
