The two-time World Series Champion returns to the mound as the Los Angeles Dodgers bolster their rotation for the pennant race.
For the first time since May 6, the Los Angeles Dodgers are scheduled to play a game with Tyler Glasnow as their starting pitcher.
The 33-year-old was recently activated after missing the last three and a half months due to lower back spasms.
Remember, Glasnow went just one inning in that start on May 6 against the Houston Astros, and he was coming off a scoreless eight-inning, one-hit gem two starts prior.
Now, all eyes are on this Dodgers rotation, one that seems to be near full strength heading into the postseason. Obviously, the only notable absence is Shohei Ohtani, but he's expected to be back sooner rather than later.
Glasnow has only thrown 39.2 innings this season
Glasnow made 18 starts for the Dodgers in 2025 in a season where he threw 90.1 innings, well below the 134 he threw in 22 starts the year prior.
Currently on his third team in his 11-year MLB career, Glasnow is 3-0 in his 7 starts this season with a 2.72 ERA. This is a guy who already has a 1.3 WAR this season, proving just how incredible he is when the Dodgers have him in their starting rotation.
Sadly for the Atlanta Braves, they're on the opposite end of his big return. This is a huge step forward for not just the Dodgers' rotation, but Glasnow in general, a guy who's been on the shelf for far longer than anyone originally expected.
At the end of the day, his numbers this year have been phenomenal. Glasnow has only allowed more than two earned runs in one start, and he still didn't take the loss in that game back on Friday, April 10.
Keep in mind, he's yet to allow an opposing team to record more than five hits against him since September 20, 2025. Glasnow, if he truly is 100%, is a game-changing addition to a Dodgers team that is trying to re-capture the best record in all of baseball.
Dating back to his Dodgers debut in 2024, Glasnow has been a 5.1 WAR player and sports a 16-9 record. His ERA has never been higher than 3.49 in any of those three seasons, and it'll be interesting to see how similar his numbers are to 2025, a year when he also made fewer than 20 starts.
Knowing his WHIP is only 0.83 and his K/BB ratio is 3.8, this is an extremely dangerous pitcher who will undoubtedly give the Braves a run for their money.
